Who I am and what I’m up to Last updated: Nov 25, 2025
Every week I write The Keyword newsletter.
It ensures I keep up with what’s changing. That’s why I started.
I research in more detail one story and share what I learned in the ‘Feature’ section.
I’m supported by a small team of contractors.
I include advertisements in the newsletter so it roughly breaks even.
Here is a little more about me.
I spent 7 years marketing agency-side (based in Shrewsbury, London & New York), before spending the last few years contracting with brands and working on start-ups.
I’ll be launching my latest project in the coming weeks, and planning to share and document at least some of the journey and challenges.
What I’m reading: Non-fiction: The Sense of Style (The thinking person’s guide to writing in the 21st Century by Steven Pinker **Novel: Relato de un Náufrago (The Story of a Shipwrecked Sailor) by Gabriel García Márquez
What I’m learning:
Spanish: Big focus for me. Working with a couple of teachers, one in-person and one virtual to get to C1 level by end of next year. Salsa: Incredible how it can change your mood and great non-alcohol social thing. Boxing: Brushing up technique and great for fitness.
What I’m listening to: Not as-big-a podcast listener as I have been, but try to catch some episodes of 20VC by Harry Stebbings and his interviews with specialists in Product, Growth, Sales etc.
Current obsession(s): I have a few. I’m filling up my apartment with plants until it becomes an actual jungle. Last count we’re up to 27.
Also, digital privacy. Seems crazy how much the planet uses and centralizes data with Google. I’ve recently switched to Proton (email, calendar, authenticator) and Brave (browser). Still using a couple of Google products I’ve not been able to replace.
Where I spent/spend my time:
*Born in the UK → Spent a few years in New York → Then nomad-ing around Latin America →
Now living full time in* 🇨🇴
